My research draws on psychology and other social sciences to explore leadership development, emergence, and effectiveness. 


I have published over 20 articles and book chapters and my work been cited over 6,000 times per Google Scholar. I have received grant funding from NASA and the National Science Foundation.


I have delivered over 25 invited research talks at institutions such as the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), Harvard Business School, INSEAD, The Ross School of Business (University of Michigan), the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia), The Fuqua School of Business (Duke University), and the Olin School of Business (Washington University in St. Louis).

Teaching

I teach Strategic Leadership and Adaptive Leadership in W. P. Carey's Executive MBA program, the core Leadership and Teams course in the Full Time MBA Program, and a Mindful Leadership elective in the Evening MBA Program. I have previous experience teaching Negotiations and Organizational Behavior.


I have been recognized as one of the full-time MBA programs Most Impactful Faculty Members, and one of Poets and Quants Top 40 under 40 MBA Professors.

Service


From 2022-2025 I served as an Associate Editor of Academy of Management Journal, one of the premier empirical management journals. I have served on several committees and participated in numerous workshops to support the Academy of Management's Organizational Behavior division. I enjoy mentoring doctoral students and my former students have placed at institutions such as the University of Iowa and the University of Wyoming.
